Personal profile


Since June 2020, I am a Macquarie Research Fellow at the Department of Philosophy. I studied at the University of Amsterdam where I obtained a BSc in Physics and Astronomy, a BA and MA in Philosophy and a MSc in Brain and Cognitive Sciences. In March 2018, I obtained my PhD in Philosophy from the University of Amsterdam with a thesis titled: "Anticipating Affordances: intentionality in self-organizing brain-body-environment systems".

Since my defence I received an Amsterdam Brain and Cognition Talent Grant and worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the Industrial Design Department of Eindhoven University of Technology, the Department of Psychiatry of Amsterdam UMC and as both a teachind and a research fellow for Department of Philosophy of the University of Amsterdam.

Research interests

Philosophy of Mind - attention, affordances and agency.

Philosophy of Cognitive Science - predictive processing, the free energy principle, embodied cognition.

Philosophy of Biology - enactivism, autopoiesis theory.

Phenomenology - especially Hans Jonas.

Philosophy of Technology - postphenomenology, the mediation approach, transformative practices.
