Biography
Jessica joined the Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance in 2022. She holds BCom (Distinction), MPhil and PhD Degrees from UNSW. She also spent time as an exchange student at the Goizueta Business School, Emory University. Prior to her academic career, Jessica worked as a procurement specialist in the world’s largest telecommunication company in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, U.A.E.
Jessica is a researcher specializing in auditors' judgment and decision-making (JDM), employing experimental methods to explore the impact of technology and interpersonal factors on audit planning and procedures. Her research interests focus particularly on how these factors influence the effectiveness and efficiency of audit engagements. Jessica has published her research in Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory (ABDC A*) and Journal of Accounting Literature (ABDC A).
In her teaching, Jessica is currently focusing on undergraduate and postgraduate (including CPA) auditing and assurance and is deeply passionate about this area. She is committed to inspiring her students and preparing them for the evolving future of the auditing profession. She actively engages with industry experts to explore collaborative opportunities in both teaching and research. Also, Jessica was a finalist for the Vice-Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Education (Innovation in Education) in 2025.
Jessica is the Deputy Course Director of the Bachelor of Commerce, the largest degree program at Macquarie Business School. She also serves as the Early Career Researcher (ECR) representative for the faculty.
