Biography

Dr. Jiayi Zheng is a Lecturer in Finance in the Department of Applied Finance at Macquarie Business School, Macquarie University. Before joining Macquarie University, she served as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow in Finance at the Australian National University.

Dr. Zheng completed her Ph.D. in Finance at the University of Queensland, where she was awarded the University Medal and received the Dean's Honour Roll and Dean’s Commendation for Academic Excellence.

Dr Zheng’s research focuses on corporate finance and financial markets, with particular emphasis on institutional investors, information environments, and corporate labour allocation. Her work has published in leading finance and accounting journals including British Accounting Review and Journal of Financial Research and one was awarded the British Accounting Review (ABDC A*) Best Paper of 2023. She also serves as a peer reviewer for several leading ABDC A*/A ranked journals.
