Biography

John Romalis (PhD MIT) is the Head of Department of Economics. John studies international economics and has published papers on the determinants of international trade, the effects of the global recession on trade, the economic effects of tax and trade policy, and the international effects of China’s growth in journals such as the American Economic Review, the Quarterly Journal of Economics, the Review of Economics and Statistics, the Journal of the European Economic Association, and the Journal of International Economics. John had prior appointments at The University of Chicago, The Australian National University, The University of Sydney, and visiting positions at Princeton, Dartmouth, and the IMF.
