Biography

Josefine Bertz is Senior Research Officer in the Dementia Research Centre of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Macquarie University. After receiving her technical diploma in Chemistry and Biology [CBTA] in Berlin, Germany in 2007, she was awarded with a scholarship by the European Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students in the department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Ioannina, Greece . This was followed by an employment as Technician at the University Clinic Balgrist in Zurich, Switzerland in the Tumour Research Group in Osteosarcoma until 2011.

In 2012 she obtained an Internship under the supervision of Associate Professor Lars Ittner in the Brain and Mind Research Institute at the University of Sydney and was employed as a Research Officer in the Dementia Research Unit at the University of New South Wales in 2013. At Macquarie University she continues working with Professor Lars Ittner as Senior Research Officer supporting seven research groups in laboratory management.
