Biography

I am a Macquarie University Research Fellow in the Department of Media, Communications, Creative Arts, Language, and Literature. My MQRF project is titled 'Atheism, Repression, and Emotions in Medieval Europe'.

My research considers the intersection between beliefs, disbeliefs, and emotions in medieval Europe from 1100–1500. I enjoy textual editing and translation, and have published multiple volumes in Routledge's Crusade Texts in Translation series. My current research considers the emotions of atheism in medieval culture and the Voynich manuscript in the context of late-medieval gynaecology.
