Kylie Andrews is an historian whose research centres on media and communications. She is currently the Research Fellow on the ARC project "The ABC, its archives and its audiences". In 2022, she published her first book, a history of the ABC titled Trailblazing Women of Australian Public Broadcasting, 1945-1975 (Anthem Press, London & New York). In addition to receiving the Clare Burton Scholarship for her work on gender in Australian broadcasting, she was awarded a National Council of Women Australia Day Award and the UNSW Frank Crowley History Prize for her research into Australian media cultures. Prior to becoming an historian, Kylie worked in media production for more than a dozen years and was responsible for the management of scores of audio and audio-visual projects including animated feature film, radio commercials and an extensive variety of corporate communications.
