Biography
Leonardo Callegaro received the B.Eng. and M.Eng. (Hons.) degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Padova, Padova, Italy, in 2004 and 2006, respectively. He was awarded the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering in 2018 from The University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, where he held a research associate position until 2020. From 2007 to 2014, prior to his doctoral studies, he mainly worked in the industry sector related to dc power systems for telecommunications and remote area power supplies.
Dr Callegaro is currently a lecturer in electrical engineering at the School of Engineering, Maquarie University, Sydney, Australia. His research interests include control for power electronics in photovoltaic energy systems, microgrids, grid integration of renewables, PV module-level converters, and more.

He recently completed Master of Research supervision of:
- Mohammad Anas Anees (award year 2023), thesis title: "Virtual Synchrnonous Generator Grid-Forming Inverters Based on Model Predictive Control", supervisors: Dr Leonardo Callegaro, Dr Mihai Ciobotaru
Teaching and Leadership
Dr Callegaro is actively engaging with Macquarie University Faculty of Science and Engineering teaching and leadership committee on matters including and not limited to: learning and assessment, pedagogy, scholarship of teaching and learning, diversity, equity and inclusion. He is a contributing member of the School of Engineering electrical and electronic degree leadership committe
