Personal profile
Biography
Linda is a Lecturer in Physiology in the Faculty of Medicine, Health & Human Sciences (FMHHS) and the Physiology Discipline Lead in the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program.
During her PhD, she investigated the pathophysiology of liver disease progression in the context of obesity and diabetes. In the meantime, she also became a casual academic. Empowered by the capacity to help others overcome the same hurdles that she once overcame, she pursued a teaching qualification where she was accredited as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Nine years, four universities, and eighteen units of study later, she had taught graduates of science, medical science, various allied health degrees, and has been nominated for faculty teaching awards.
Linda joined Macquarie University in late 2022 as a Teaching & Leadership academic, and nowadays her research is focused on accessible practices in higher education. She is the co-chair of the MQ Neurodiversity Community of Practice, early career representative in the Macquarie Medical School Education Committee, and both organiser and mentor in the FMHHS Graduate Researcher Mentoring program.
