Lori joined the Australian Lymphoedema Education, Research, and Treatment (ALERT) Centre in 2017 as a Research Officer on the PREVENT Study, an international project exploring prospective surveillance and early intervention for women at risk of lymphoedema following breast cancer treatment. Since then, she has contributed to a range of studies within the ALERT research team and is currently undertaking a PhD focused on the role of body composition in chemotherapy toxicities, lymphoedema risk, and cancer outcomes in women with breast cancer.

Lori’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from Curtin University (1991) and a Master of Research (2024), where she completed a thesis exploring body composition and chemotherapy toxicities in women undergoing treatment for breast cancer. She also completed the ALERT Level 1 Lymphoedema Accreditation Training Program (2020).

In her current role, Lori is responsible for writing study protocols, preparing and submitting ethics applications, coordinating clinical trials, and working closely with the ALERT team on multiple research initiatives. She also works within a multidisciplinary team at the MQ Health Lymphoedema Clinic and plays an active role in the diagnostic, surgical, and lipoedema clinics.
