Personal profile

Research interests

I am an oceanographer and reef fish enthusiast and have a passion for marine ecology.  During my academic journey, I have navigated the areas of ecology, biogeography, ocean dynamics and more recently, conservation planning. The interdisciplinarity nature of my academic trajectory has pushed my research interests towards an integrative framework of marine ecology and applied conservation. My next steps are to uncover the links between fish movement across marine areas managed by local communities to identify management practices that promote conservation and fisheries benefits.

Currently, I am a postdoctoral research fellow at Macquarie University leading a three-year academic project. This project combines spatial, ecological and social components to identify implementation gaps in the management of marine environments and to support the endurance of fisheries benefits and food security.
