Biography
Magdalena Przybyla is a postdoctoral fellow in the Dementia Research Centre at Macquarie University. Magdalenas research primarily focuses on identifying, and testing novel treatments for neurodegenerative diseases, as well as utilizing specific models to better understand mechanisms underlying neuronal dysfunction and disease progression towards dementia. In 2022, Magdalena got awarded the Macquarie University Research Fellowship (MQRF) to invetigate the underlying mechanisms of Tau propagation in Traumatic Brain Injury.
Research interests
Magdalena's research tries to better understand the pathomechanistic role of the tau protein in common forms of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease, Frontotemporal dementia and traumatic brain injury. To further her understanding, Magdalena utilises several techniques including animal and cell models, AAV technology, molecular biology, histology and biochemistry.
