Biography

Mahdi Vesal completed his PhD in Marketing at Macquarie University. His PhD thesis ranked by all examiners as Top 10% of Doctoral Research. Mahdi’s research interests include B2B marketing strategy, supply chains, innovation ambidexterity, environmental sustainability, and branding in the B2B setting. He has published several journal articles including one in Industrial Marketing Management ranked A* in the ABDC ranking list. Additionally, he has taught several marketing units at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels at leading academic institutions in Australia. The core of his teaching philosophy is focusing on authentic teaching and includes working through industry-relevant cases, activities, and assessments in the curriculum. Mahdi also holds a master’s degree in MBA and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. His industry experience mainly in the area of oil and gas spans over 5 years. Before joining Macquarie University, he served as a marketing manager in the supply chain department of companies operating in the chemical and petrochemical industry sector. Mahdi also serves as a reviewer for Journal of Strategic Marketing and Australia and New Zealand Marketing Academy Conference (ANZMAC).
