Biography

Dr Marika Franklin was awarded her PhD from the La Trobe University, Melbourne (2019). Prior to joining the Centre for Workforce Futures, she worked as a researcher at the University of Sydney, the University of New South Wales and in the not for profit sector. Her research examines the intersections between sociology and health, with a focus on how capital shapes agency and opportunities for living well. She is presently working on an ARC DP project examining the demographic and social dimensions of migrant ageing and wellbeing in Australia, led by Professor Taksa. She is a member of The Australian Sociological Association (TASA).
