Biography

Marjan Nazifi is a Lecturer in the Department of Economics, and her primary fields of research are energy and environmental economics. She received her first PhD in economics from the Allameh Tabatabi’i University, one of Iran’s premier institutions, before working as the Senior Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs. Marjan completed a second PhD at Macquarie University on the linkages between carbon emissions and energy markets. She has published in high impact international journals, including Energy Economics and also Energy Policy. She teaches a number of economics subjects, including a Professional and Community Engagement unit, which incorporates the participation of an industry partner, in addition to Principles of Economics (a large first year unit).
