Biography

Mehak ([email protected]) is a doctoral candidate in the School of Psychological Science at Macquarie University, supervised by Distinguished Prof. Ronald Rapee and Dr Lauren McLellan.

She has a broad research focus, ranging from self-harm and substance use in adults to social anxiety in children. She is particularly interested in utilizing a variety of research methods — such as experimental, correlational, longitudinal and meta-analysis — to improve treatment strategies for young population with social anxiety disorder.

Her research focuses on bridging the gap in understanding how children and adolescents with social anxiety respond differently to the same treatments, considering developmental and cognitive factors.
