Biography

Dr Michael Chang is a senior lecturer and has been the program director of the Spatial Information Sciences at Macquarie University since 2011. Michael’s research interests include vegetation and land cover and land use monitoring, change detection and 3D modelling using earth observation data with the aid of geographic information systems (GIS). He has also contributed to many multi-disciplinary projects on biodiversity conservation, wetland monitoring, natural disaster mitigations (e.g. bushfires, floods, and seismic deformation), public transport planning, geographical mapping of multilingualism, etc., using spatial analyses and modelling.
