Michelle Jamieson holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of New South Wales. She researches in the areas of sociology, feminist science studies and the medical humanities. Michelle's work investigates the division between mind and body, sociality and biology, especially in relation to illness and medicine. She has completed major interdisciplinary studies of depression and allergies. As HDR Learning Advisor, Michelle provides research training to Masters and PhD students in the Faculty of Arts. She is particularly interested in helping students to cultivate sustainable and reflexive work practices that foster disciplined intellectual engagement, well-being and joy in the research experience.
