Personal profile

I am a clinical psychologist, a Macquarie University Research Fellow and a senior member of the eCentreClinic ( I am passionate about increasing access to effective psychological treatments for adults with chronic physical health conditions, especially neurological conditions.

My research is highly pragmatic in nature and has the overarching aim of improving patient care. I am particularly interested in reducing both structural and attitudinal barriers to psychological interventions for mental health and chronic health conditions. Reflecting this, my research has focused on:

  1. Increasing the identification of mental health in neurological conditions including; validating screening devices and estimating prevalence rates via meta-analyses and empirical studies;
  2. Assessing psychosocial factors and interventions for mental health difficulties in chronic health conditions;
  3. Developing and evaluating face-to-face and internet-delivered programs for improving the wellbeing of adults with a variety of mental health and chronic health conditions. This currently includes, the Wellbeing Neuro Course, an innovative internet-delivered program aimed at supporting the emotional and cognitive wellbeing of adults with neurological disorders.
