Biography
Mostafa M. Hasan is a Professor in the Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance at Macquarie University, Sydney. He obtained PhD from Curtin University in 2015. He was the Highly Commended Award winner of the 2017 Emerald/EFMD Outstanding Doctoral Research Awards in the Finance category. Before joining at Macquarie University, Mostafa held academic positions at Curtin University (Australia) and University of Dhaka (Bangladesh).
Professor Hasan’s research focuses on the intersection of accounting and financial economics. His broad research interests include corporate governance, corporate finance, corporate sustainability, and corporate disclosure. His publications have appeared in Management Science, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, Energy Economics, European Accounting Review, British Accounting Review, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Business & Society, Accounting and Business Research, International Review of Financial Analysis, International Review of Economics and Finance, Australian Journal of Management, Journal of Contemporary Accounting and Economics, and Accounting and Finance.
Professor Mostafa Hasan also serves as an ad hoc reviewer for many journals including Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Banking and Finance, European Accounting Review, British Accounting Review, Energy Economics, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Australian Journal of Management, Journal of Contemporary Accounting and Economics, International Review of Economics and Finance, Finance Research Letters, and Research in International Business and Finance.
He is an Associate Editor of Abacus and Journal of International Financial Management and Accounting and an ad-hoc Associate Editor of British Accounting Review. He is also Editorial Board member of Advances in Accounting and Journal of International Accounting, Auditing and Taxation.
