Biography

Mostafa M. Hasan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance at Macquarie University, Sydney. He obtained PhD from Curtin University in 2015. He was the Highly Commended Award winner of the 2017 Emerald/EFMD Outstanding Doctoral Research Awards in the Finance category. Before joining at Macquarie University, Mostafa held academic positions at Curtin University (Australia) and University of Dhaka (Bangladesh).

A/Professor Mostafa Hasan’s research focuses on the intersection of accounting and financial economics. His broad research interests include corporate governance, corporate finance, corporate sustainability, and corporate disclosure. His publications have appeared in the Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, European Accounting Review, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Business & Society, Accounting and Business Research, International Review of Financial Analysis, International Review of Economics and Finance, Australian Journal of Management, Journal of Contemporary Accounting and Economics, Accounting and Finance, and Research in International Business and Finance.

A/Professor Mostafa Hasan also serves as an ad hoc reviewer for many journals including Journal of Banking and Finance, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, Australian Journal of Management, Journal of Contemporary Accounting and Economics, International Review of Economics and Finance, Finance Research Letters, and Research in International Business and Finance. He is an Associate Editor of Research in International Business and Finance.
