Biography

Atif is an academic in the Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance at Macquarie Business School. Previously, he has held full-time academic position at the Essex Business School (UK).

Atif's research interests include corporate governance (board dynamics and diversity), sustainability and disclosure, and auditing practices. His research has appeared in leading international journals such as the Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, The British Accounting Review, Journal of Corporate Finance, and Journal of Business Ethics, among others. His research has been featured in media outlets (e.g., Forbes, The Telegraph, Daily Mail, and The Conversation) across Europe and the US.

Atif is an ad-hoc reviewer for several leading international journals such as The British Accounting Review, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, Journal of Corporate Finance, British Journal of Management, Journal of Business Ethics, International Review of Financial Analysis, Australian Journal of Management, and Accounting and Finance, among others. He is a recipient of several internal and external research grants and supervises research students. Before joining academia, Atif has worked as a senior audit officer in the financial sector for several years.
