Biography

Associate Professor Munjed Al Muderis is an orthopaedic surgeon and a clinical lecturer at Macquarie University and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Macquarie University, specialising in hip, knee and trauma surgery for the adult and paediatric population. He has special expertise in hip arthroscopy for femoral-acetabular impingement syndrome as well as soft tissue damage to the hip. Associate Professor Al Muderis received formal training in Europe on the anterior approach total hip replacement, which is gaining significant popularity worldwide.

He also has special interest in ACL reconstruction using anatomy preserving technology and total knee replacement using computerised navigation technology. Associate Professor Al Muderis is one of a handful of surgeons worldwide who has special expertise in trans-femoral and trans-humeral amputations, providing patients with robotic artificial limbs using trans-cutaneous osseointegrated technology.

Associate Professor Al Muderis is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Australian Orthopaedic Association, International Society for Hip Arthroscopy and Orthopaedic Surgical Osseointegration Society.
