Biography
Overview
Mutsa is an Adjunct Research Fellow at Macquarie University Centre for the Health Economy (MUCHE). Her research interests include drug and medical device assessments, program evaluation, systematic reviews and public health. Mutsa is curently the health economics and market Access lead at Olympus Australia.
Prior to working at Olympus, Mutsa worked as a health economics and market access leader Johnson & Johnson Medical Australia from April 2021 to December 2023.
Mutsa worked at MUCHE as a Research Fellow from 2016 to March 2021. She also worked as a Research Associate at Curtin University in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics and co-ordinator of the Cancer Council (Western Australia) Cancer Epidemiology Network. She has also worked as a Research Assistant at the WHO Collaborating Centre for Obesity Prevention at Deakin University and the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine at Monash University in Melbourne, a public health research analyst at National Health Services in the United Kingdom, and as an Associate Consultant for a pharmaceutical consulting company in the United Arab of Emirates.
During her time at MUCHE, Mutsa reviewed and conducted evaluations for the Pharmaceutical Benefit Advisory Committee (PBAC) and Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC). Mutsa assisted in teaching the short courses on economic evaluation and the health economics unit of the Masters of Public Health. She supervised a Masters student and also worked on a number of commissioned projects. She served as an executive member of the Australian Health Economics Society as the public officer (2017-2020), and currently serves as an elected council member of the University of Melbourne Alumni Council.
Mutsa has published peer-reviewed journal articles, and presented at national and international conferences.
