Biography
I'm a seasoned Data Scientist with expertise in both academic and High-tech Industry research and development. Designed and implemented state of the art machine learning models and algorithms to a variety of problems. I am mainly interested in the development and application of machine learning algorithms to real-world data in general and biomedical data in particular.
My PhD dissertation (2008-2014) combines two sub-domains in machine learning: learning causal graphical models and clustering analysis for learning latent variable models. Both my master thesis (2003-2007) and my postdoctoral research (2014-2016) are mainly on applying machine learning to biomedical domains. The former combines clustering analysis and ontological methods for identifying groups of comorbidities for developmental disorders, and the later developing machine learning for the identification of cellular subpopulations of the immune system from multidimensional mass cytometry (CyTOF) data sets.
Since completing my postdoctoral studies (2016), I have been working as a senior data scientist at several startups, where I designed and developed machine learning models to a variety of problems and domains; cyber-security, ad-teach, anomaly detection in data centers and employee management platforms.
