Biography

Petra is a biostatistician and academic in the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences. She enjoys collaborative research, applying often complex statistical techniques to problems in health and climate change. Her research work aims to inform policy and change clinical practice.

Research interests

Petra has research interests in:

  • Systematic reviews and meta-analysis particularly in evidence-based medicine
  • Longitudinal studies particularly in cognition and adolescent health
  • Climate change and its impact on health services

Research student supervision

Petra has co-supervised multiple PhD students and Master of Research Students to completion and has supervised many Master of Applied Statistics student projects. 

Teaching and Leadership

Petra also enjoys sharing her love of statistics at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and particularly likes teaching first year units to try to spark an interest in and passion for statistics relevant to each students' discipline. 

Petra has previously held positions as Master of Applied Statistics program director and Discipline Lead in Statistics.
