Personal profile
Biography
I am a Lecturer in Electromagnetics and Wireless Engineering. I have over 9 years of teaching experience, and am the Program Coordinator for Masters of Electronics Engineering degree. I actively engage in curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate programs, engaging with integrating professional practice within curriculum, design-problem based learning, flip classrooms and pedagogical innovation. I have a strong interest in research related to radio-frequency systems, wireless communication hardware, and applied electromagnetics. I have authored/coauthored over 80 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers, 2 invited book chapters, and am an inventor on two patent applications. I am a leading expert in mono-fed planar directional antennas with unprecedented bandwidths, high-gain antennas with hybrid-microwave lensing, pattern-synthesis using mono-fed/sparse-fed metasurtaces, and millimeter-wave antennas for applications in broadband communication and defense sectors. My research has received over 1.4 million dollars worth of research grants, contracts and fellowships. I have been a visiting researcher at CSIRO Astronomy and Space Science (Australia), University of Stuttgart (Germany), and University of California Irvine (USA). In 2017, I received the URSI Young Scientist Award, and in 2018, I was selected for IEEE NSW Outstanding Young Professional Award.
