Biography

Dr Rimante Ronto is a Lecturer in Public Health and mixed methods researcher, within the Department of Health Systems and Populations, Macquarie University. Rimante’s research interest is in public health nutrition field, in particular obesity prevention, adolescents’ dietary behaviours, food environments, food policy, food literacy, and food and nutrition education. Her doctoral research project focused on the role of food literacy in shaping adolescents’ dietary behaviours. Rimante works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to increase healthy dietary behaviours mainly among school and university students through education and policy. Rimante has published several systematic reviews on food literacy, social marketing interventions, work on school food and nutrition education and policy, school food environments and its impact on students’ dietary behaviours.
