Biography

My research, known as the Found a Fossil Project, explores the interactions between humans, both ancient and modern, and fossils.

At the intersection of palaeontology, archaeology, and science communication, the Found a Fossil Project asks what people would do if they ever discovered a fossil, or a First Nations artefact. While artefacts and fossils are different in their formation, preservation, and significance, they are both products of Country, and can both be found across the Australian landscape, often by non-scientists.

My research delves into museum studies, science and heritage policy, social science surveys, and science communication to the public through online platforms, comedy, and storytelling. Through public engagment, I aim to connect with people who may be finding this heritage material across the country, and raise awarenss of how we can work together to protect Australia's natural and cultural heritage into the future.
