Biography
Sana Syed is a Mechanical Engineer at Australian Astronomical Optics (AAO) at Macquarie University, a recognised world leader in innovative astronomical instrumentation, software, and research. With over 8 years of experience developing optomechanical and cryogenic systems for various applications, she has been instrumental in delivering two research projects at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and various innovative, analysis-driven solutions at Eaton Technologies.
Her career spans roles like Project Research Engineer at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and Structural Analysis Engineer at Eaton Technologies in India, and now AAO in Australia. Since joining AAO, Sana has contributed to a wide range of ground-based telescope and space instrumentation projects, including DIRAC for the East Anatolia Observatory in Turkey, DOT-HRS for Devasthal Optical Telescope (DOT) in India, ALOHA for Advanced Navigation, and the Malya Thermal Camera System.
