Biography

I am a trained mass spectrometrist with expertise in glycomics, glycoproteomics and proteomics. During my PhD in Analytical Glycoimmunology Group at Macquarie University, I focused on investigating the structure, function and involvement of mannose-terminating glycoproteins in human cancer, innate immune system (granular neutrophils and lysosomes), pathogenic infections, and sepsis. Moving on to my first post-doctoral position in Zaia Research Group at Boston University, I explored viral glycoproteomics, particularly of influenza and SARS-CoV-2 viruses, using ion mobility mass spectrometry in partnership with Waters Corporation. After relocating back to Sydney, I am currently a Merck-funded research fellow in the Analytical Glycommunology Group where my research focuses on cancer glycoimmunology, and developing analytical omics workflows on state-of-the-art mass spectrometers.
