Biography

The key academic motivation is to produce highly-efficient, low-carbon energy by integrating chemical looping (CLC) process with other high-temperature energy conversion processes, which will rely largely on the design of novel chemical processes for efficient fuel/biomass conversion and development of novel catalysts for inherent CO2 reduction. This can be achieved through, but not limited to, the following three directions:

1. Sorption-enhanced chemical looping reforming (SE-CLR) of fuel or biomass for hydrogen production

2. Chemical-looping reforming of methane for inherent CO2 reduction.

3. High-purity hydrogen or C/H-ratio-controllable syngas production by integrating calcium looping (CaL) with biomass gasification.
