Biography

Tazin is a PhD candidate, sessional teaching academic, and research assistant at the Department of Linguistics, Macquarie University. Her research explores how multilingual public communications address linguistic diversity and investigates how this affects social participation. Her current focus is on the language barriers to accessing domestic violence information for those who speak a language other than English. She is also interested in the representation of linguistic diversity in linguistic landscape. She has a Masters of Research in Linguistics, a Masters of Applied Linguistics from Macquarie University, and extensive experience in the field of intercultural communication and international student support services.
