Biography
Professor Therese MacDermott is an academic at Macquarie Law School, Macquarie University. Her particular expertise lies in the areas of equality and anti-discrimination laws and in the procedures (both formal and informal) that are used to resolve legal claims. As part of a group of interdisciplinary researchers, she is currently working on an Australian Research Council Discovery Project on ‘A Relational Theory of procedural Justice’. In addition to her academic roles at a number of universities, Professor MacDermott has a diverse legal background that includes working in private legal practice, policy research, a tribunal appointment, consultancy in the Pacific, and training and development. She is a member of the Macquarie University Centre for Agency Value and Ethics, the Berkeley Age Equality Group, and the international Labour Law Research Network.
