Dr Ting Shen is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Department of Clinical Medicine, Macquarie University. She has obtained a master's degree in Biomedical Science from King’s College London. She did her PhD in Clinical Medicine at Macquarie University and has more than 5 years of research experience in vision/neuroscience in the UK and Australia. She has 12 publications and presented in 5 national and international conferences.
Dr Shen has research interests in using the retina as a model to study the correlations between retinal and optic nerve changes with brain structural and functional changes in healthy aging and neurodegeneration. She’s also interested in investigating potential genetic and other biomarkers that could assist with the early diagnosis of neurodegenerative disorders including Alzheimer’s disease, glaucoma and multiple sclerosis.
