Biography
Anthony Eyers, MBBS, M Bioethics, FRCS, FRACS
Tony is a Colorectal Surgeon who worked at RPAH for over thirty years, where he first developed an interest in Ethics. Now practices at Macquarie University, and teaches Ethics and Professionalism in the Bachelor of Clinical Science and Doctor of Medicine courses. He also chairs the Medical Sciences Ethics Committee at Macquarie, and is a member of the Clinical Innovation and Audit Committee. He has recently completed a nine-year appointment to the Medical Council of New South Wales, where he was a member of the Conduct and Performance Committees, and latterly was chair of the Health Committee. The ethics of surgical innovation is one of his key interests.
