Biography

Dr. Jayden (Xiaohu) Chen is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the NanoTech Laboratory (NTL) within the School of Engineering, Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE), led by Prof. Noushin Nasiri. Alongside his research role, he also serves as a Teaching Academic, contributing to multiple core engineering units.

Dr. Chen is the 2025 Eureka Prize Winner for Innovative Use of Technology, recognising his contributions to next‑generation sensor technologies. He is an active Review Editor with the Springer Nature Editorial Academy and has served as the Early Career Researcher (ECR) representative for the Smart Green Cities Research Centre, where he continues to champion cross‑disciplinary collaboration and research leadership.

His research focuses on the design and fabrication of nanostructured materials, miniaturised sensing technologies, and wearable electronic systems aimed at advancing personalised and preventive healthcare. He also contributes his expertise to the university’s Smart Green City initiative, advocating for the role of emerging researchers in shaping sustainable urban futures.
