Biography

Biography: I am a seismologist at the Department of Earth and Planetary of Sciences, Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. I got my Bachelor of Sciences from University of Science and Technology of China in 2000. My PhD studies took place in Brown University majoring in Geophysics/Seismology during 2000-2005.  Afterward, I took research associate and senior research associate positions at University of Colorado at Boulder.  In 2010, I moved to Macquarie University as a lecturer.  Now I am an associate professor.

Research interests: My primary research interests lie in understanding the structure, dynamics, and deformation of the Earth's lithosphere and upper mantle by studying seismic velocity, anisotropy, and attenuation using seismological techniques. My specific research topics include ambient noise surface wave tomography by extracting seismic Green functions from cross-correlating sequences of ambient or background seismic noise, teleseismic surface wave tomography using earthquake data to constrain the seismic structure of lithosphere, joint inversion of multiple seismic data sets to improve the imaging of thermal and chemical status of the lithosphere and upper mantle.
