Biography
Dr. Zeyad Mahmoud is a Health Services Management Researcher at the Centre for Healthcare Resilience and Implementation Science, Australian Institute of Health Innovation. Passionate about using evidence to improve the delivery and organisation of surgical care, Zeyad's work spans many topics including organisational resilience, safety and quality, technology adoption and human resource management. In 2020, he earned a joint PhD in Health Management and Innovation from the University of Nantes (France) and Macquarie University for completing an international research program that involved fieldwork in both countries. His PhD titled "Hosptial Management in the Anthropocene" examined the interplay between efficiency-driven managerial practices and staff wellbeing in operating theatres. Zeyad is trained in both qualitative and quantitative research methods and has advised many health agencies in Australia and overseas (ACSQHC, WSLHD, ACI, NSLHD, Nantes University Hospital).
