Description
A pilot study in the lead-up to ABC’s 90th anniversary based in part on opening records of ABC’s listeners and viewers.
The primary (though not the only) purpose of the project would be to facilitate access to, and understanding of, the extensive collection of ABC documents held by the National Archives of Australia (NAA). It is anticipated that these will help
identify historical materials of potential relevance to ABC's upcoming 90th (2022) and 100th (2032) anniversary celebrations.
The purpose of the MOU with ABC include:
(a) to encourage collaboration between the ABC and MQ in relation to the Project;
(b) to encourage new scholarship on the history of the ABC;
(c) to prepare for the centenary of the ABC, by consolidating archival material and academic materials regarding the ABC; and
(d) to encourage mutual cooperation between the parties in the undertaking of their respective functions and to foster a productive working relationship.
