Description
This project will develop a research-informed AI governance framework to support the safe, responsible and compliant adoption of artificial intelligence within the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Sydney Branch. It will examine emerging AI technologies, banking-specific AI risks, regulatory expectations and governance practices, and translate these findings into practical governance principles, management oversight mechanisms and an implementation roadmap. The research will be complemented by targeted capability-building activities for management and staff.
Layman's description
Artificial intelligence is creating new opportunities for banks, but it also brings new risks relating to privacy, cybersecurity, reliability, decision-making and regulation. This project will help ICBC Sydney Branch understand how AI can be used safely and responsibly. Macquarie University will develop practical recommendations for AI governance and provide training to help managers and staff understand AI opportunities, risks and their responsibilities when using AI.
