Project Details
Description
This project aims to develop a new method for reading digital data stored in DNA, directly from solid surfaces, without damaging the DNA. Using advanced microscopy and machine learning, we will identify unique vibrational signals from DNA and translate them into digital information. This non-destructive approach could replace current time-consuming sequencing methods. The outcomes include new scientific insights, academic publications, and a potential patent. This technology offers long-term benefits such as compact, energy-efficient storage systems for critical information, helping address growing global demands for sustainable data solutions. It also positions Macquarie as a leader in semiconductor synthetic biology innovation.
