This project aims to develop a novel sensory system that monitors, analyses, and reports on the identification, health and wellbeing of livestock during transport. The system uses sensor arrays (Temperature, Humidity, Oxygen, Ammonia) on board the transport vessel to build a clear picture of the environment and status of each head of livestock. It will be cloud-backed so when the internet is available the data is uploaded; during the entire journey a visual representation of the status step along the process of the animals will then be supplied to all the relevant parties through web and smartphone applications.
