Project Details
Description
There is considerable interest in the relationship between psychological well-being and lifestyle factors, with growing evidence for a link between diet and mental health. Food insecurity is also related to mental health. Our research aims to look at the association between fruit and vegetable intake, food security and mental health in the National Heath Survey.
Key findings
We anticipate that this research will be used to increase public awareness of the link between consuming a healthy diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables for improving mental health. This research will also inform interventions for improving diet, food security and mental health showing key population groups and transition periods where interventions are most needed.
