Automatic Empty Locations check in the Warehouse using a Drone

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

Legrand warehouse has over 8000 bulk locations where excess stock is stored, off the ground, up high. Legrand are looking to streamline their time-consuming and labour intensive empty stock inventory process. The company would like to utilise a drone with a mounted camera for this purpose. The main goal is to have a drone system that would communicate with their ERP system to be told which empty locations to go to and check. The drone would then check if the location is empty or not and generate a report. The company would like this to be an automatic system that can be performed over night, everyday, when the warehouse is empty. The locations are all labelled with a 2D barcode.
