SafeWork NSW has engaged BIT to conduct research that will examine how SafeWork NSW engages and communicates with micro and small businesses (MSBs) and what can be improved and changed. Key objectives outlined below:
• Review how SafeWork NSW engages and communicates with MSBs using a behavioural insights/user experience approach. This includes an end-to-end review of current practices and tools.
• Identify, assess, and prioritise current practices and tools as a function of potential benefit from behavioural insights science.
• Case studies: develop behavioural insights improvement of selected current practices and tools, and test efficacy (selection based on previous phases).
• Deliver a best practice guide for the regulator, covering advice, education, and engagement with/for MSBs.
Macquarie University is providing expert academic advice and research services to support our research and facilitating submission of a final paper / report for academic publication.
