Blood-Based Early Stage Colorectal Cancer Screening Saves Australian Lives

Australia has the highest rate of colorectal cancer (CRC) globally. Thousands of Australians would survive CRC if we were able to detect it earlier by a simple blood test. Here, we expand on exciting discoveries showing some (36) out of thousands of blood proteins do change enough to clearly distinguish early stages of CRC from healthy individuals. We will develop this into a new early stage screening blood test, with a view to saving many Australian lives.
