Project Details

Educators will work with children identifying the causes of local floods, using a creative-arts based approach. Children’s art works will be transferred to canvas for an art exhibition open to children, families and community.
Educators will also create books to publish for the children using their narratives and works and these will be made available to families.
Educators will build on our Pedagogy of Hope with children, which was developed following the catastrophic bushfires, documenting children’s responses to the floods and helping to build both resilience and hope as they face additional severe weather events. In addition to the creative-arts approach, children will also engage in various STEM projects, relating to water, erosion, storage and climate contributors. Educators will assist children to build connections and feel connected, creating a sense of community together.
