Project Details

Description

The project will evaluate the pyrolysis oil from multilayer plastic packaging waste produced in the novel technology commercialised by CIRAC in Thailand with aim to improve its quality for use as a raw material for producing plastic. A laboratory scale pyrolysis reactor will be developed to mimic the conditions from the existing pilot plant. The technology concepts for treating resulted pyrolysis oil will be developed to be able to use as the pyrolysis oil for producing plastic. By integrating the technological advancements developed in this project with novel technologies by CIRAC, it is possible to establish a closed-loop recycling system for one of the most challenging waste types: multilayer plastic packaging. This system can effectively transform multilayer plastic packaging into aluminium and pyrolysis oil, which can subsequently be repurposed as raw materials for plastic production.
