Project Details

Description

Children who are blind or have low vision (BLV) often have difficulties accessing and interacting with playgrounds, many of which are not equipped to support them. This research project evaluates existing playgrounds, seek community feedback via surveys, reviews current practices and legislation, and prepares a framework for codesign activities with the community to gain a comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced by BLV children and their caregivers. The outcome of the project will be a set of guidelines and case studies for better playground design and enhanced physical, social, and intergenerational experiences for BLV children.
