Description

The project combines machining learning expertise at UTS, material science and biofilm formation expertise at LaTrobe and smart sensing expertise at MQ to deliver a digital twin model to Sydney Water. The digital twin will inform Sydney Water of regions in their waste water networks that require rehabilitation.

Layman's description

Concrete corrosion is a global problem in waster water networks worldwide. In the case of Sydney Water the cost of rehabilitation increase four fold if the corrosion front reachs the rebar. A digital twin will inform Sydney Water of the need to rehabilitate before the rebar is compromised.
